SBEAS SanctuaryThe 31-acre South Bend-Elkhart Audubon Society wildlife sanctuary features forested and grassy areas, as well as ponds and streams. Trails criss-cross the entire acreage.
Volunteers each year work at the sanctuary to keep visitors and wildlife happy. Birdhouses need to be built, trails trimmed, and buildings painted. Recent projects include the rehabilitation of the stream and ditch, and construction of wetlands, thanks to grants from NIPSCO and IPALCO.
