Boot Lake Nature Preserve
Location
Boot Lake is located in Elkhart County, due east of Granger. From the city of Elkhart, take CR 7 North, then west on CR 6 to Edwardsburg Road. The Park is off County Road 3 N.
There is limited parking available at the park. Consider carpooling if you have a large group.
Habitat
Forest, lake, prairie.
Trails
South Woods - From the parking lot, head back into the woods and follow the trail straight to the lake. There is a viewing platform here that overlooks the lake and offers great views of ducks, gulls, and other water birds.
Prairie Trails - These trails lead through the large prairie of the park. This is an excellent location for sparrows, wrens, and other grassland birds.
